Jeremy Dullard
Musical Director
Jeremy Dullard is a musician, composer, educator and the Founder/Musical Director of Gamelan DanAnda (GDA). A percussionist fluent across classical, jazz and contemporary idioms, Jeremy leads our schedule of weekly gamelan classes, and is the musical director of all of our performances.
As Musical Director, Jeremy stewards artistic integrity, repertoire development, recording, touring and mentorship for emerging community teachers.
John Cheong-Holdaway
Creative Director
John Cheong-Holdaway is a creative producer, musician and economist with extensive experience working in a wide range of sectors, social settings and countries to create social and policy change.
In this role, he is bringing gamelan to new audiences by creating festivals of traditional music and dance, taking Gamelan DanAnda to major festivals, and creating radical new fusion works in genres as diverse as hip hop and jazz-fusion.
Ria Soemardjo
Artist in Residence
Ria Soemardjo is a Naarm based musician with a passion for intercultural collaborations across diverse genres and artforms. She creates and performs music for independent contemporary dance and theatre in Australia and Asia.
Under the residency, supported by the City of Darebin, Ria is creating a new musical work - 'Kodok-kodok (frogs) - inspired by the soundscape of Merri Creek, referencing specific frog, insect and bird, and inspired by the rhythmic interlocking patterns of Balinese gamelan music.
Adelista (Dela) Widjaya
Marketing Manager
Dela is a creative marketing and communications professional and graphic designer, bringing 9+ years of experience across digital campaigns, brand, photography, videography, content and community-led engagement in Indonesia and Australia. Dela has performed with GDA since 2024, and has a strong contemporary dance/choreography practice.
Eka Poedijono
Cultural Advisor
Born in Bali, Dwipa Ekasari Poedijono (Eka) moved to Australia at the age of three with her parents, after her father was invited to teach Javanese gamelan, dance, and puppetry at Monash University. Growing up in a household steeped in artistic tradition, with a father deeply involved in Javanese performing arts and a mother who was a Balinese dancer, Eka naturally gravitated toward the cultural richness of both Java and Bali.
Immersed in Indonesian traditions from an early age, Eka honed her skills in the performing arts, taking part in diverse cultural events across Melbourne, including the Festival of All Nations, Festival Indonesia and more recently many performances by Gamelan DanAnda.
Eka’s focus lies in exploring the spiritual philosophies of music and dance, seeking to grasp the essence of creation in a contemporary context. Through this work, she aims to share the depth of Indonesian wisdom with communities, fostering harmony, connection, and understanding.
