Safe participation for all ages

Child Safety at Gamelan DanAndaGamelan DanAnda (GDA) is committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children. We have zero tolerance for child abuse and embed child safety in everything we do—classes, rehearsals, performances, and community events.
Our commitment in practice
  • We follow a Child Safe Policy and Child-Safe Code of Conduct that apply to board, staff, volunteers, artists, contractors and visitors.
  • We create culturally safe, inclusive spaces—particularly for Aboriginal children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disabilities.
  • We use safe recruitment (e.g., Working with Children Checks), training and supervision; we identify and manage risks in our physical and online environments; and we keep proper records and share information lawfully.
  • Everyone at GDA must uphold professional boundaries, listen to children, and report concerns promptly.
If you have a concern
  • If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
  • Otherwise, please contact our Child Safe Officer (details below). We take all concerns seriously and respond in line with our policy and Victorian law.
